These trots are an easy way to see different parts of town on foot. If you are thinking about buying a home in Austin, Round Rock, Buda, Pflugerville, Hutto or the Lake Travis area, pay attention to how the neighborhoods feel when the streets are full of people.

Thanksgiving feasts and gatherings

If running is not your thing, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the day without turning it into a race bib situation:

Local spots like Cannon + Belle downtown, Tradition at Hyatt Centric on Congress, Blind Salamander at Omni Barton Creek, Hotel Viata in West Lake Hills and Carpenters Hall in Zilker are offering special Thanksgiving brunches and prix fixe dinners, many by reservation only.(Cannon + Belle)

  • Friendsgiving events
Community gatherings such as Esquina Tango’s Friendsgiving celebration on the East Side and RecoveryATX’s sober Friendsgiving potluck provide welcoming spaces if you want a holiday meal with a crowd but not necessarily with extended family.(Esquina Tango)
